Moshe Mendelson, OD FIAO
Dr. Mendelson, a Board Certified Optometrist, fellowship trained in Orthokeratology, received his Doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley in 1990. He was trained at the Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Francisco and at the Veteran's Administration at Stanford. He specializes in the fitting of contact lenses, post surgical, keratoconus and multi-focal. He also provides ergonomic consulting services for computer users. Dr. Mendelson works with local schools to provide eyecare to underprivileged children.
Jesley Johnson, OD
A California native, Dr. Jesley Johnson grew up in San Jose and attended St. Francis High School. She graduated from the University of California San Diego in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology. During her time at UCSD, Dr. Johnson volunteered at the Optometric Vision Development Center where she developed an interest in vision therapy.
Dr. Johnson received her doctorate from the State University of New York, College of Optometry in 2011. From her rotations at the SUNY College of Optometry and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, she has become well-trained in treatment and management of ocular diseases, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts.
She gained experience providing optometric vision care at the University Eye Clinic in Manhattan, New York with an emphasis in the sub-specialty clinics of pediatrics and vision therapy. She elected to take a vision therapy externship which further engaged her passion in the area, specifically in regards to the pediatric population. Dr. Johnson is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and continues to attend lectures and seminars to further her knowledge in vision therapy.
Dr. Johnson is certified in corneal refractive therapy and is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology. Having witnessed firsthand the benefits of CRT, Jesley is proud to be part of a team known for excellence in this field. Dr. Johnson is also a member of the InfantSee program, Santa Clara County Optometric Society, and California Optometric Association.
Aside from Optometry, Dr. Johnson is an active member of her Indian community. She also enjoys watching sports, specifically football and basketball. She is excited to be back in the Bay Area and looks forward to serving your family's eye care needs.
Jackson Lau, OD, FSLS
Dr. Jackson Lau obtained his Doctor of Optometry and Bachelors degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. His internships were completed at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Puget Sound, Marin Community Health Clinic, and Alameda County Medical Center. Dr. Lau then completed a post-graduate residency in Cornea and Contact lenses at the Illinois Eye Institute where he served as clinical faculty, conducted research on dry eyes and scleral contact lenses, and lectured on topics of corneal disease, myopia control and specialty contact lenses. He has extensive experience working with leading corneal specialists at the Illinois Eye Institute and the University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lau has earned distinction as a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS), having managed hundreds of patients with keratoconus, corneal transplants, and severe dry eyes. He is currently pursuing his Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. Dr. Lau is excited to join SVEP as he seeks to dedicate his practice to corneal disease and advanced myopia control techniques using computer-generated orthokeratology lenses, custom soft multifocal lenses, and atropine treatment.
Outside of practice, Dr. Lau enjoys hiking, camping, basketball, snowboarding, and cooking.
